Get to know me…

Houma, Louisiana, a town named for the Houma Nation, is a small town that sprang up out of the oil drilling industry along the Gulf Coast. I grew up there with my mom, my dad, my brother Jace, and our beagle, Katy. My mom is an OBGYN nurse, and my dad coached baseball, football, and golf at our local high school.

I decided I wanted to become an actress when I was nine-years-old after my mom dragged me to theater camp. I was a very shy kid, prone to passing out under too much pressure or heat. Despite singing constantly at home, I found taking to the stage especially terrifying. My first day at theater camp, they made everyone sing all by themselves one by one. Everyone was so brave! Although I was shaking like a leaf, I stood in the middle of the room, took a deep breath, and sang “Zippadee Doo Da” with every ounce of courage I had. Performing in Alice in Wonderland Jr. that summer was the first time I’d ever felt part of something bigger than myself, and I was hooked.

Eight years later, I left for Syracuse University and suddenly found myself in NYC with a Musical Theatre B.F.A. and a newfound passion for gender studies and LGBTQ rights.

I’m passionate about making art, creating agency for artists, and fighting the white supremacist capitalist patriarchy, and I’m incredibly grateful to be chasing my dreams here in this wonderful city where every day is an adventure.

A big thank you to every teacher who has helped me along the way and to my family for their endless love and support.
